Sivan Park is located in the K.K Nagar area of Chennai. It
is one of the few parks in the region and
hence is very popular. Sivan Park is maintained
by the Madras Municipal Cooperation. It
is a comparatively smaller park when compared
to other parks like the Nageswar Park and
the Natesan Parks. An important and distinct
feature of the Park is the huge statute
of Siva. The statue is fifteen feet tall
and is in the posture of Siva meditating.
Water flows from the head of the statue
to the entire body and makes it very beautiful.
The Sivan Park is also characterized
by a playing area for children with swings
and other playing equipments to suit children
of all ages. There are also a variety
of trees and plats growing in the park
which gives a lot of shade from the notorious
Chennai sun and also provides a healthy
breathing space. The park is well lit
at night. There are neat and well defined
sidewalks. It serves as nice walking and
jogging areas for the residents nearby.
There is a bus stop very near the park
and hence it is very accessible. As Sivan
Park is one of its kind in its vicinity,
there are hundreds of visitors here everyday.
