The Periyar Science and Technology Centre is located in the
Kotturpuram area of Chennai and lies adjacent
to the Birla Planetarium. This place is
a real eye opener for many and is very informative
especially for the scientifically inclined.
The main feature of this place is that scientific
inventions are presented through working
models. This institute was set up in 1963.
The Periyar Science and Technology Centre
is divided into several parks like Science
Park, Eco Park and Traffic Park. There
are several galleries here like the galleries
of Periyar's Teachings, Transport, Electronics
& Communication, Physical Sciences
and Children's Hall of Sciences. The galleries
exhibit numerous working models, technological
innovations, and audio video presentations,
graphical and textual information. The
centre is responsible for hosting events,
conduct seminars and provide discourses
on various issues relating to science
and technology This technology centre
is a great store house of knowledge.

accessible by public bus services. The
centre is open everyday except Mondays.
